Remember Quietly.
Write it down. Write it all down. Your ups and downs; highs and lows. Write down everything you remember to be true and even how some fictions are told because history is written by the victors. I am American. I used to believe that I knew what that meant but more importantly, I was under the impression that every other American knew the same. I believed that being an American was championing liberty, freedom and justice for all. That last part… “for all,” no longer applies to all. We are more divided now than we have ever been. Sure, we may have disagreements with one another and not see eye to eye on most topics but it feels like the Powers That Be are looking to divide us to the point where we take sides against one another.
This isn’t a warning post. We are beyond that now. There are people in this country that believe the rhetoric being given to them by leaders that have long been corrupted by a system that has fueled their avarice to unimaginable levels. They call it a two-party system but I believe that is a farce. Push comes to shove, they will unite into one party and it will be a The Haves vs. The Have-Nots. Hell! It feels like that already sometimes.
So again I say to you: WRITE IT ALL DOWN! Words can be changed and altered later by those in power. Certain subjects might become forbidden. Ways of thinking may become illegal and punishable under new laws so write it all down and keep it secret. Keep it safe. And while you’re at it, also note and remember everything that is being said, how it’s being said, who is saying it and who is listening. Remind them of what was said when their words paint them into a corner. Write down anything that may be needed to bring justice to those later. Most importantly, write down your happiest moments because we, as a people, are beginning to forget what that is. I know I am.
